Gemini 4 Carbon

Gemini 4 Carbon (announced 28 October 2026) is what Google calls its strongest model, with state-of-the-art cybersecurity and long-horizon abilities. It is going first to a subset of cyber defenders in Google's Fairwind Program; developers, businesses and consumers come later, with no date given.

How it compares — and the India angle

• Artificial Analysis, an independent tester, puts it first on its Intelligence Index with 59, ahead of Claude Opus 5.5 (58), GPT-6 Astra (57) and Gemini 4 Argon (50). A one-point lead at the top is not a big gap.
• On its coding-agent index Claude Code with Opus 5.5 still leads (62 against Carbon's 59), and Google's own table shows Carbon behind on FrontierSWE 2 and the offline OSWorld test.
• On Artificial Analysis' knowledge test it answers more correctly (58%, up from Argon's 48%) but its hallucination rate rises from 4% to 11%.
• Introductory price is $2 / $10 per million tokens, then $4 / $20, but no one outside the Fairwind group can buy it yet, and Google's post does not mention India.
